Production Target Explained: The Core Formula and Calculation
Plan your garment production target with our Production Target Calculator. Simply enter the SMV (Standard Minute Value), the number of manpowers, working hours, and efficiency percentage. The calculator then determines your achievable target instantly.
The calculation is based on a simple formula:
1. Convert SMV to Seconds
If your SMV is entered in minutes, convert it to seconds for accuracy.
SMV (seconds) = SMV (minutes) × 60
2. Calculate Total Available Work Time
Determine the total time your team can work during the shift.
Total Available Work Time = Number of Manpowers × Working Hours × 3600 seconds
Example: 10 manpowers × 8 hours × 3600 seconds = 288,000 seconds of available work time.
3. Calculate the Production Target
Once the total available time is known, divide it by the SMV (in seconds) and multiply by the efficiency percentage.
Calculated Production Target = (Total Available Work Time ÷ SMV in seconds) × Efficiency
Example: (288,000 ÷ 60) × 0.85 = 4,080 Pcs at 85% efficiency.
